SOLDIERS, a dance with failure and identity in the context of the Irish 1916 Centenary. The performance occurred on Sheares Street, in Cork City; the site of the Volunteer Hall where in 1916 approximately 1000 men gathered under Thomás Mac Curtain only to be sent home after contradictory messages from Dublin, along Slí Cumman na mBan and in Fitzgeralds Park; all watched over under the careful supervision of the busts of Michael Collins and Eamon DeValera.

Dancers : Siriol Joyner, Reza Mirabi, Allie Hankins, Layton Lachmann and Cathy Walsh.

Live Walking Audio Tour in collaboration with performance poet Julie Goo.

This project was made possible with the support of Clár Comórtha Chéad Bhlian 1916/2016, Cork Midsummer Festival, Pan Pan Theatre Company, Dance Limerick, UCC, Cork City Council, Cork Public Museum and Michael Keegan Dolan Dance.
